Architects and General Contractors, while certainly working for you, need to watch out for themselves and their own bottom line. Additionally, they are generally less experienced in the management of the overall project budget, project financing and development issues. 5. What is FISCAL CALM worth? A Recent Sterns & Associates Success Story: There was a dispute between an owner and contractor over who was responsible for paying permit costs. The contractor came to the owner with a $100,000 bill for construction permits that, per their contract, were the owner’s to pay. Sterns & Associates brought the contractor to the table and by the end of the conversation all parties left the office smiling and the owner was not required to pay a cent. Sterns & Associates saved this owner $100,000.
